LUNCH EVENTS 2016

Regular features of our annual programme have been the Winter Lunch which is normally held on the last Friday in November and a members' lunch held after the Carol Service. In 2015, the Committee decided the Association's summer event should also be a lunch. Around fifty people attended this event and it has been felt appropriate to repeat the format in 2016.

 

SUMMER LUNCH

 

Our Summer Event will again be held at the Shaw Country Hotel, Shaw on Wednesday 10th August 12.30 for 1.00 p.m. The menu is with the application form on the centre pages and consists of 2 courses at a cost of £17.00 per person, just a small increase on last year.

 

There will of course be a bar for those wishing to have a drink before or with their meal. Tea and coffee (at an extra charge of £2 payable on the day) will be available after lunch. Weather permitting this could be enjoyed outside on the patio of the hotel.

 

If you wish to sit with friends please let the organiser know, but maybe it would be nice for us all to meet at least one person we have not met before at a National Trust event.

 

I do hope you will be able to join us for lunch and as always there will be a raffle to boost the funds raised by the Association for National Trust.

Bookings should be made, with your menu choice. as soon as possible and certainly no later than Wednesday 27 July.

 

MENU 

 

M1) Roast Loin of Pork served with gravy, home-made sage, onion and chestnut stuffing, crackling and apple sauce

 

M2) Grilled Sea Bass fillets coated with a fresh parsley and crushed pink peppercorn cream sauce garnished with puff pastry fleurons

 

M3) Half an Avocado Pear filled with ratatouille then baked in puff pastry finished with a smoked cheese Sauce

The main courses are all served with potatoes and fresh vegetables

 

D1) Fresh fruit Salad

 

D2) Home made mango, lime and coconut Cheesecake

 

D3) Home made pecan Tart served with vanilla ice cream

 

D4) Cheese and Biscuits

 

 

Optional Filter Coffee and mint £2.00

 

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE AND LUNCH

 

This year we are holding our Annual Service of Lessons and Carols at St Cyriac's Church, Lacock, at 11.30am on Thursday 15 December.  This will be followed by lunch consisting of chicken in sauce, peas and creamed potatoes, apple crumble and custard, mince pies and coffee.  A vegetarian option will be available.  The lunch will be prepared as usual by Lacock WI members in the Village Hall, East Street, starting at 1.00pm.  The cost will be £12/head.

 

All are welcome at the Carol Service but please complete the downlable application form if you are a NWWNTA member and wish to join us for lunch afterwards, as admission to the hall will be by ticket only.

WINTER LUNCH

 

Our Annual Winter Lunch will be held at Cumberwell Park Golf Club again this year on Friday 25 November 2016.

 

A three course lunch with tea or coffee will cost £23.00. However this year we are also offering two courses for £19.00. We hope this will be popular with you and perhaps persuade some of those with smaller appetites to come along.

 

It is intended that there will be some sort of gentle entertainment after lunch. We are disappointed to have booked what we consider would have been half an hour’s worth of excellent well known music only for the artist to suddenly need surgery from which he will probably not have recovered sufficiently by the time of the lunch. We are still looking for a replacement and, hopefully, have plenty of time to find someone.

 

There will be a raffle with good some prizes and if members wish to donate a prize please bring it with you to the lunch.
