Wednesday 14 August 2019

This will be a very special day as we are priveleged to visit Frogmore House, a Royal residence since 1792. The original house was built by Hugh May, an architect to Charles the second.

There is a tour booked for 11.15am. We will split into two groups for an introduction, and learn about the members of the family who have lived in the house. Many of our current Royal Family have a special attachment to this house. Our guide will show us the rooms open for public viewing.

We will rejpoin the coach to travel to Reading. After lunch, we have two groups to visit the Museum for The Bayeux Tapestry tour. Whilst the first group is there, the second group can visit the remainder of the Museum or the close by Abbey ruins. The Oracle Shopping Centre is also near, with many places to eat. Please make sure you do not lose your bearings!

Later in the year, I hope to take us to Windsor using City and Village Tours. whose guide is known to The Royal Family. On that tour, we will be able to visit extra semi State Rooms in Windsor Castle. Hence we shall not visit Windsor today.

We leave Reading at 4.30pm; traffic willing  we arrive at Chippenham around 6.00pm.
