By popular request, by all the garden-lovers, we are including a trip to RHS Wisley this year.

Wisley is one of the world’s great gardens, packed with horticultural inspiration. It was founded in 1878 by George F. Wilson and covers 240 acres. We are assured that the garden will be at its best at this time of year. There is a wheelchair route around most of the garden and their mobility vehicle can pick up and drop off people, starting from the Conifer Lawn.

The extensive Glasshouse opened in 2007 and includes tropical and exotic plants and flowers, and an alpine house. Explore the stunning Rock Garden and stroll the Mixed Borders, all cared for to perfection. There are 30,000 plant varieties spread throughout the National Heather collection, the Bowes Lyon Rose garden, model gardens, Rhododendrons and Azaleas, wild and walled gardens, borders and sculptures. Friendly gardeners are available to ask for expert advice.

Home grown food is available in the Food Hall for you to enjoy the true taste of Wisley and there are designated areas in the gardens for picnics. A visit to the Wisley Shop and Plant Centre is a must for top quality plants, great ideas for home, garden and special occasions. We should all come away with inspirations for our own gardens!

If I am requested, individual mobility scooters can be booked in advance. Friends and family will be welcome to join us on this trip.

RHS members are reminded to bring their card and may bring 1 guest free of charge. We plan to arrive by 11am and leave at 4pm, to arrive back in Devizes by approximately 6pm.
