After our very brief stop in Greenwich during our London Stayaway last year, a number of people said they would like to spend more time there so this Day Tour does just that. It will provide the opportunity to visit some of the famous venues listed below so that you can decide on your own itinerary for the day, perhaps bookingonline in advance to obtain cheaper prices. Youmay like to bring your children/grandchildren orother friends and family as it is planned for aSunday in school holidays, when the traffic should
be lighter than on a normal working day. We will have a comfort stop en route and will be using Real’s 35-seater Executive coach.
Royal Observatory – Home to the Meridian Line. Charges apply.
Cutty Sark – Last surviving tea clipper. Charges apply.
National Maritime Museum – the largest museum of its kind in the world. Free.
Queen’s House – Built by Inigo Jones for Anne of Denmark, James 1’s wife. Free.
Greenwich Park – London’s oldest Royal Park. Ideal for picnics. Free.
Greenwich Market – Great for browsing crafts, design, antiques and collectables. Free.
Old Royal Naval College – Architectural masterpiece designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Free.
River trips – Upriver to central London, or downriver to the Thames Barrier. Charges apply.
Cable Car – with 360 degree views of London. Charges apply.
There are many cafes and restaurants at Greenwich or you may like to take a picnic, so maybe plan your day in advance.
We expect to arrive at 11.30am and depart at 4pm., arriving back by 7.15pm in Chippenham.
